On August 6, 2011, my father Kraig Vickers, was killed in action aboard Extortion 17 which was the call sign of the U.S. military helicopter that was shot down in Afghanistan killing all 38 people on board. 

While this loss deeply affected many Gold Star families, I chose to channel my grief into gratitude, honoring the extraordinary life he lived. 

My father’s legacy is my driving force, his impact brings me great peace. Each day, I reflect on his courageous fight for freedom. Inspired by his warrior spirit, I am committed to forging my own path of empowerment and resilience through jiu jitsu and culinary arts.
